- Mirage, California. As actor and singer, she was forgettable;
- as a dancer, rarely better than proficient. But as the sum
- mation of America's most legendary decade, Keeler was matched
- by few. Her spunky innocence sparkled in Gold Diggers of 1933,
- Footlight Parade and 42nd Street, in which Warner Baxter warned,
- "You've got to come back a star!" She did.
